AN OAP has become the face of a top clothing brand after she got in touch via social media.
She wrote on the brand’s Facebook page: “How about a model of 81? I even posted five pictures, just to make things more fun.”

The former PE teacher said her whole family – including her six kids – backed her bold career move and thought she looked great.
Asdis said she only approached 66°North as a bit of fun.
“I was just having a little fun. Then I decided to ask 66°North if they wanted a model.
“I thought they would want someone younger. But they came back to me. I was very surprised, but very pleased.”

Asdis said: ”Three people from Reykjavik came and photographed me.
“I’m having the time of my life”
“I was interviewed as well. I liked having my make-up done and I would be interested in becoming a model.
“I enjoyed being shot in beautiful nature, being outside. This is such an adventure, something totally different for a lady my age.
“I’m having the time of my life. It certainly is an interesting change to my normal everyday life.”
“Age and looks aren’t everything,” she said. “Everybody needs to get dressed and people need to dress according to weather and age.”
The sports-mad granny keeps her slim figure in shape by exercising regularly. She goes for long walks every day – sometimes for nearly two hours at a time.
”This winter was especially icy. The ground could be likened to an ice rink, lasting months.
“But now it’s wonderful to walk outside but only on crampons.”
